Terms of sale

Last updated 20 October 2026

Draft. This page has not been reviewed yet and will change before Polyquill goes on sale.

These terms cover buying and using Polyquill, the desktop app sold at polyquill.app by Luna Lazuli LLC (“we”).

Your licence

  • A licence lets one person use Polyquill on up to two computers at a time, on Windows, or on Mac once the Mac version is released.
  • It is yours to keep: it does not expire, and it covers the major version you bought (for example every 1.x release), including every update and bug fix for that version, at no charge.
  • A new major version (for example 2.0) is a separate purchase. Owners of earlier versions get it at a discount, and may try it free for 90 days before deciding.
  • You may move your licence to a different computer by deactivating an old one, in the app or from your account.
  • You may not share your licence key with others, resell it, or remove or work around the licence check.

The free trial

Polyquill can be used free for 30 days of use before buying. After the trial, your projects still open, and you can read, search and export them, but editing needs a licence. Your writing is never locked away from you.

Activation

Entering a licence key activates Polyquill on that computer, which needs an internet connection once. After that, Polyquill works offline. It checks in occasionally when online to pick up upgrades and licence changes. What activation sends is described in the privacy notice.

Payment

Prices are shown in US dollars before any sales tax or VAT, which is added at checkout where it applies. Payments are handled by our payment provider, whose name may appear on your receipt and statement. We never see or store your card details.

Refunds

See the refund policy.

Your work

Everything you write in Polyquill belongs to you. Your projects are files on your own computer; we do not receive, read or store them.

No warranty

Polyquill is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it reliable, and it saves backups of your projects, but please keep your own backups of work that matters to you. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data or indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the version in force when you bought your licence applies to that purchase. Questions: contact@polyquill.app.
